ADC Candidate Casts Vote in Ekiti 2026 Governorship Election
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate, Dare Bejide, participated in the ongoing 2026 Ekiti State governorship election by casting his ballot.
After voting, Bejide spoke with journalists, describing the voter turnout as impressive. However, he raised concerns about vote‑buying activities taking place at his polling unit.
He alleged that members of a particular political party were handing out money to voters. Bejide said he confronted a woman suspected of distributing cash; she reportedly called her superior, and the local council chairman arrived and began to verbally abuse him.
EFCC Presence Noted at Polling Unit
According to reports from Sahara Reporters, approximately ten Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officers arrived at Polling Unit 003, Ward 06, Ikogosi, in Ekiti West Local Government Area around 9:05 am. The anti‑graft agents were observed monitoring activities shortly after voting commenced at 8:30 am.
While the EFCC officials did not immediately disclose the purpose of their deployment, their presence coincided with increased scrutiny of the election and widespread allegations of voter inducement across the state.
