ADC Aide Claims No President Since 1999 Has Taken Atiku to Court
The senior political assistant to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, Demola Olarenwaju, stated that his principal is the most investigated politician in Nigeria since 1999.
He added that no president since 1999 has dragged Atiku to court, even though Atiku has challenged each of them electorally and constitutionally; instead, Atiku usually initiates lawsuits and wins them.
Olarenwaju emphasized that Atiku’s track record allows him to hold power accountable without fear.
In contrast, APC chieftain Joe Igbokwe questioned Atiku’s trustworthiness, claiming he cannot be relied upon with Nigeria’s treasury.
Igbokwe referenced former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s accusation that Atiku bribed the late Ghali Umar Na’Abba to impeach him, calling the claim reckless and unfair to a deceased individual.
Atiku responded that Obasanjo’s allegation was baseless and unjust.
Igbokwe, in a Facebook post, reiterated his stance, urging Atiku to hear that he cannot be trusted with the nation’s finances and cited Obasanjo’s view as support.
