A Nigerian student who chose not to sit for the NECO exam has attracted widespread attention after her 2026 WASSCE results appeared online.
Ndiana-Abasi Udom posted the girl’s scores on Facebook, noting that she is the daughter of his friend.
Udom said the learner was extremely self-assured throughout the exam season, repeatedly informing her mother that she expected nothing less than an A in every subject.
Learner Achieves Six A1 Grades in WAEC
When Udom shared the results on social media, he highlighted that the candidate earned six A1 passes but also obtained two C grades in subjects she deemed crucial.
She secured A1 in Commerce, Accounting, Economics, Civic Education, Digital Technologies, and Food and Nutrition.
Nevertheless, she received a C5 in English Language and a C6 in General Mathematics.
Student Expresses Disappointment and Calls for a Remark
According to Udom, the pupil’s high confidence led her to skip the NECO test altogether.
This WAEC result belongs to my friend’s daughter. Throughout the examinations, she repeatedly told her mother that she could not achieve a B, let alone a C. She even declined to take the NECO exam.
WAEC has just released her outcome, showing two C grades and six A1s as indicated below.
The young lady is now feeling disappointed and is requesting that the two papers be retrieved and re‑marked. She maintains that scoring a C5 or C6 in any subject, especially Mathematics and English, is impossible for her.
Commentator Backs the Learner’s Stance
Udom also voiced his support for the student’s position, saying, “What do you think? As far as I’m concerned, I completely agree with her. This situation is not typical.”
