A Nigerian woman has revealed the identity of the individual captured on video touching Alexx Ekubo’s coffin while wearing a ring. Initially, worries spread after a clip went viral showing the older man making contact with the coffin’s surface.

The woman, known on Facebook as Kikky Chukwura, explained that she carried out her own investigation. She noted that the man’s gesture was part of his job as a staff member of the Ebonyi Funeral Home. She added that he was checking whether the coffin remained adequately chilled, explaining that during long‑distance transport with stops, funeral personnel routinely verify the temperature to avoid decay. The slight nod he gave after touching the casket was probably a silent signal to his colleague.
Details of Alexx Ekubo’s Funeral
According to earlier reports from GistReel, the actor was laid to rest on June 18, 2026, in his native Arochukwu, Abia State.
The burial proceedings included a musical tribute on June 10 at The Monarch Event Centre in Lekki, Lagos, followed by a vigil on June 17 at the family residence in Arochukwu.
The main service occurred at Mary Slessor School Field in Amanagwu Village, Arochukwu, drawing relatives, friends, and notable Nollywood personalities such as Ini Edo, IK Ogbonna, and Yomi Casual.
After the ceremony, the actor’s body was interred in the family compound, with customary rites observed in line with tradition.
It is important to remember that Alexx Ekubo died on May 11, 2026, at the age of 40, after a private struggle with metastatic kidney cancer.
