A Nigerian woman has stirred online conversation after declaring she will not prepare meals for her husband when he stays home all day, insisting he either snacks or goes without food.
In a video that is spreading on X (formerly Twitter), she explained that she has observed various marital situations she would not accept in her own relationship, especially concerning the sharing of household tasks.
She stressed, “I will not allow anything I see in other marriages to happen in my own.”
She pointed out that if her spouse remains indoors the entire day—whether working remotely or simply relaxing—there is no reason for him to wait for her return before eating.
She added that after a day at work or dealing with traffic, she will not apologize before heading to the kitchen to cook.
“You either have snacks or go to bed hungry. This simply will not occur in my household; it is not normal,” she said.
Her remarks have generated mixed reactions on social media, with some advocating equal division of domestic responsibilities, while others argue that caring for one another is a fundamental part of marriage.
