Peter Obi Claims Victory in 2023 Election, Says Truth Will Emerge Ahead of 2027 Poll
Peter Obi, the 2027 presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), reiterated his belief that he won the 2023 presidential election, despite the official results declaring another winner.
Speaking in a recent interview, the former Anambra State governor said Nigerians should look beyond the announced outcome, insisting that the true result will eventually surface through the democratic process.
Obi explained that his conviction stems from his personal experience as a presidential candidate in that election, and he is confident that history will vindicate his claim.
He added that a time will come when the events surrounding the 2023 poll are fully understood, and his stance on the outcome will be recognised.
The former Labour Party presidential nominee also used the opportunity to reaffirm his intention to run again in 2027, telling Nigerians that he is presenting himself once more for the nation’s highest office.
Quoting him directly, Obi said: “Do you know that in the last election I won? Forget about the proof, they didn’t declare me. I have contested elections in Nigeria as a presidential candidate and won, leave what’s declared because one day the story will be told.”
“For now, I can tell you that I’m offering myself for the general election in Nigeria. One day, the process will recognise it.”
