ADC Leaders Slam APC’s Ekiti Performance
Former Senate President David Mark and former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola have denounced the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration in Ekiti State, labelling it ineffective and unable to ease the economic hardships faced by residents.
The remarks came during a massive rally in Ado‑Ekiti on Tuesday, organised to drum up support for the ADC’s governorship hopeful, Ambassador Dare Bejide.
Thousands of party sympathisers turned out, signalling the ADC’s intensified campaign drive ahead of the forthcoming election.
Mark Calls ADC a Viable Alternative
Addressing the crowd, Mark urged Ekiti voters to back the African Democratic Congress, describing it as a credible alternative to the ruling APC.
He asserted that the ADC possesses the capacity to tackle the state’s economic challenges and lift Ekiti out of poverty.
According to Mark, the APC has failed to deliver tangible benefits to the populace, and the ADC is committed to “rescuing Ekiti from poverty” by installing a government that prioritises citizens’ welfare.
Aregbesola Counters Doubts About ADC’s Structure
Rauf Aregbesola dismissed suggestions that the ADC lacks the organisational muscle to challenge the APC at the polls.
He argued that a party’s true strength is revealed only on election day, not through pre‑election claims of dominance.
Aregbesola warned the APC not to underestimate the opposition, noting that assumptions about political control can be misleading when votes are counted.
“If they truly intend to go to the poll without writing results, they can never win that election,” he declared.
He expressed confidence that the ADC would triumph provided the election is conducted freely and fairly.
The rally formed part of the ADC’s stepped‑up mobilisation efforts ahead of the Ekiti governorship poll.
ADC leaders urged residents to reject the ruling party and rally behind Bejide, whom they portrayed as capable of delivering superior leadership for Ekiti State.
