Galatasaray Rejects Arsenal’s Osimhen Swap Offer
Galatasaray have turned down Arsenal’s offer that included Swedish striker Viktor Gyökeres plus an additional €30 million for Nigerian international Victor Osimhen.
The Turkish champions view Osimhen as a world‑class striker and insist any bid must reflect his market value, which they place between €130 million and €150 million.
Arsenal officials travelled to Istanbul to discuss the proposal, but Galatasaray held firm, citing the player’s importance to the squad and his recent performances.
Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with the former Napoli forward, yet Galatasaray’s valuation remains unchanged.
Since his permanent move in July 2025, Osimhen has become a key figure under head coach Okan Buruk, boosting the club’s Champions League profile and earning strong support from fans.
Arsenal’s interest persists despite signing Gyökeres earlier in 2025, with sporting director Andrea Berta having previously scouted the Nigerian striker.
Questions about Gyökeres’ adaptation at Arsenal may have prompted the latest approach from the Premier League side.
Osimhen remains committed, having signed a four‑year deal worth about €21 million net per season — the most lucrative contract ever given to a player in Turkish football.
Galatasaray paid Napoli €75 million for his transfer, retaining a 10 % sell‑on clause and a restriction that prevents a sale to another Italian club before 2027 without a substantial financial penalty.
There is no sign that Osimhen wants to leave; he is happy in Istanbul and would only consider an exceptional English offer capable of convincing both him and the club to change their positions.
