Sam Amadi Defends Peter Obi Against Baseless Attacks
The Director of the Abuja School of Social Thought and Politics, Sam Amadi, has stated that recent attacks targeting the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, are ineffective because no credible evidence of corruption or scandal has been presented against him.
Amadi’s comments came in response to a post by X user @RealQueenBee, who referenced remarks made by Okonkwo suggesting he could release damaging information about Obi if his supporters continued to criticise him online.
Reacting to the post, Amadi wrote: “Attacks against @PeterObi don’t stick much because he has little or nothing that is scandalous or corrupt. All the other presidential candidates today cannot boast of that record.” He added that Obi’s political popularity remains intact because his critics are merely expressing elitist derision rather than presenting factual revelations.
Amadi argued that most of the criticism directed at Obi amounts to elitist attacks lacking substance, noting that Obi’s clean record in public service has shielded him from damaging allegations. He contrasted this with other contenders, who cannot claim a similar freedom from corruption accusations.
In his view, despite sustained criticism from political opponents, Peter Obi remains the strongest option among the current crop of presidential hopefuls.
