A Nigerian lady has ignited online discussion after criticizing men who say they struggle to remain with their partners for longer than a couple of weeks before losing interest.
In a widely circulated clip on X (formerly Twitter), she asked how these men envision handling marriage when they already find it difficult to spend extended time with their partners during a relationship.
She expressed:
“You men, you people have very stupid audacity. How can you tell me that you can’t allow your girlfriend, your girlfriend, no be say na one-year relationship, like three years relationship, to stay with you? If she stays with you for more than two weeks, you’ll be tired.”
She emphasized that marriage demands considerably greater commitment than dating, warning that those who lose interest quickly may be unprepared for married life.
She pointed out that many overlook the fact that a wedding is a single‑day event, whereas marriage is a lifelong partnership demanding patience, understanding, and continual companionship.
“So how would you marry? Wedding and marriage na two different things. Wedding is a day, marriage is for life. So how do you intend on marrying? Abi the woman should be going to her parents’ house and be coming to your side, stay for two weeks, then go back?”
Her remarks have generated diverse reactions online; some supporters believe cohabitation strengthens bonds, whereas critics contend that emotional limits vary from person to person.
The footage keeps fueling discussions on social platforms concerning compatibility, tolerance, and preparedness for marriage.
