Veteran Nollywood actor, Patrick Doyle, has made a clear statement. He prefers silence. This applies when discussing his ex-wife, Ireti Doyle. He avoids speaking negatively about her.
Doyle appeared recently on TVC’s ‘Wake Up Nigeria’. There, he faced questions about his relationship with Ireti.
The movie star responded. He stressed that his ‘anointing’ forbids him from speaking ill. This applies to anyone at all.
Doyle stated, “If I have nothing kind to say, I prefer to stay silent.” He added, “My anointing prevents me from speaking ill of anyone. This is true for both the living and the dead.” He expressed happiness that the ‘Doyle’ name has benefited her career. “So far, she has not disgraced it,” he noted. “She is performing exceptionally well. I am proud of her industry achievements. I hope this continues,” he concluded.
It’s worth recalling a past statement. In June, the actor claimed Ireti still uses his surname. He alleged this helps her maintain Nollywood relevance.
He firmly stated, “I can never be defined by her.” He emphasized, “My body of work is too substantial. No one can define it.” Doyle then posed questions. “Why is the name ‘Doyle’ popular?” he asked. “Why did she revert to Doyle post-separation?” He queried, “Who made whom popular?” He concluded by saying, “The name existed long before her emergence. I am fine with this. I have no issues.”
