PRP Chairman Denies Kwankwaso Alleged Purchase of 69 Nomination Forms in Kano
The National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has dismissed claims that the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) vice‑presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, bought any nomination forms from the party.
Baba‑Ahmed stressed that it would be impossible for Kwankwaso to have acquired 69 forms in Kano, noting that the former governor has no official link to the PRP.
He added that the individual making the allegation is not a member of the party and holds no authority to sell nomination forms on its behalf.
“This is complete fiction,” Baba‑Ahmed said, “and I am grateful for the chance to set the record straight. The legitimate PRP chairman in Kano has already issued a statement calling the report a outright lie.”
He explained that the PRP does not sell nomination forms in Kano; all forms are distributed from the party’s headquarters in Abuja.
“There is no way Kwankwaso could have bought 69 forms from the PRP in Kano. We sell forms exclusively from Abuja,” he stated.
Baba‑Ahmed further noted that the person cited in the story is unknown to the party, occupies no position, and cannot represent the PRP in any transaction.
He suggested the claim may have been fabricated amid local political tensions in Kano, reiterating that the PRP sold forms to candidates from the state, who registered, contested and completed primaries more than a month ago.
