Dominik Szoboszlai Secures New Liverpool Deal Until 2031
Liverpool have confirmed that midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has signed a fresh five‑year contract, keeping him at Anfield through to 2031.
The Hungary international joined the Reds from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2023 for a reported £60 million. Since his arrival, Szoboszlai has become a pivotal figure in Jürgen Klopp’s side, contributing 13 goals and 12 assists last season as Liverpool pushed for silverware on several fronts.
Although his previous agreement still had two years left, negotiations with sporting director Richard Hughes intensified in recent weeks, culminating in the new deal being finalised and signed this week.
“There’s always more to come. I’m never happy. I want to set an example for everyone, as much as I can.”

He added that his desire to win every possible trophy, including the Premier League and the Champions League, remains unchanged.
Liverpool’s hierarchy believes the 25‑year‑old’s best years are still ahead and view the extension as a cornerstone of their long‑term strategy.
The new contract also fuels speculation that Szoboszlai could be named vice‑captain, especially with Andy Robertson set to leave the club this summer. As Hungary’s captain, he is seen as a leading candidate for the leadership role.
Szoboszlai returned to Merseyside on Tuesday to begin pre‑season preparations and will join the squad for Liverpool’s upcoming tour of the United States next week.
