A man ignited online discussion after saying he ended a date early, taking his meal to go, because the woman he invited arrived with five friends and assumed he would cover everyone’s bill.
He explained that the original plan was just for the two of them.
However, the woman turned up with five companions without giving him prior notice, after discovering his monthly income.
The situation attracted more attention when screenshots of their alleged private chat appeared online.
In those messages, they traded insults about who should pay for the meal, and the disagreement quickly intensified.
Screenshots Show a Heated Exchange
Sharing his side of the story, the man wrote, “Because I told this woman how much I earn each month, she decided to bring her five friends to our planned date without informing me. I ordered food for myself and one plate for her, then asked the server to add five extra spoons. She called me broke and insulted me for not providing a separate plate for each of them. While they were berating me and calling me broke, I discreetly asked the waiter to pack the food to go. When he returned, I paid for the meal, got into my car, and drove away, leaving them behind.”
The screenshots also reveal the woman accusing him of embarrassing her and her friends, while the man insisted he had only intended to pay for the two of them and questioned why she brought additional guests.
Story Sparks Debate on Dating Expectations
The post has generated widespread reactions across social media, with users divided over who was at fault.
Many argued that bringing uninvited friends to a date is inappropriate, while others criticized the exchange of insults between both parties.
As of the time of reporting, the claims are based solely on the man’s account and the shared screenshots, with no independent verification of the events.
