Wadada Calls for Party Unity After APC Primary
Nasarawa State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant for the 2027 election, Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, has made a heartfelt appeal for calm and solidarity among party members.
The appeal came during a meeting that brought together APC leaders, government officials, and supporters from across the state. Governor Abdullahi Sule welcomed the delegation, describing the gathering as a proud moment for the party and reiterating his full backing of Wadada’s candidacy.
Governor Sule also stressed the importance of maintaining peace following the recent primary election. He urged members to refrain from hostility toward opponents and instead foster respectful relationships, emphasizing that all contestants remain part of the same political family.
Sule assured Wadada that he would be given the space to lead without unnecessary interference, stepping in only when absolutely necessary.
Wadada’s Personal Appeal to Former IGP Adamu
Speaking on the political developments, Wadada reflected on his own experience of accepting defeat in a previous primary and continuing to work for the party’s success. He used that example to reach out to Mohammed Adamu Abubakar, who also contested the APC primary.
“All those who are contesting against us are not our enemies. They also believe in Nasarawa State. Let us approach them with caution, not with hatred. Let us approach them with love,” Wadada said.
He added, “I conceded defeat in the 2018‑2019 primary and did not only accept it but submitted myself to both the party and the government. That commitment allowed me to lead the campaign council that delivered our engineer, Governor Abdullahi Sule.”
Wadada concluded by urging Adamu to follow his example: “When he does that, he is not doing it for me but for Nasarawa State.”
