ADC Candidate Warns Nigerians Against Electing Incompetent Governors
The Ogun State governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Biodun Collins Ogundipe, has criticised Nigerians for repeatedly electing leaders who lack the vision and ability to govern effectively.
He warned that poor leadership at the state level is a major driver of the country’s developmental challenges.
Prioritise Competence, Capacity and Character
Ogundipe urged voters to look beyond party loyalty, money politics and ethnic sentiments, and instead focus on a candidate’s competence, capacity and character.
He argued that many states remain underdeveloped because voters repeatedly choose individuals who have no verifiable track record of achievement in the private sector or public service.
Demand Clear Development Blueprints
The ADC guber candidate called on Nigerians, especially the youth, to scrutinise aspirants ahead of the 2027 elections and support those who can present concrete development plans and proven results.
He said, “Forget about the campaign slogans that promise quick gains and then disappear; if a candidate cannot show you what they have achieved in business or public office, you have no reason to entrust them with state resources.”
Security Requires Intelligence, Not Just Firepower
Ogundipe also stressed that modern security management goes beyond deploying armed personnel and buying armoured tanks. Effective policing in the 21st century relies on intelligence gathering, prediction, prevention and rapid intervention.
He challenged leaders to present a clear security blueprint for their states, warning that spending billions on armoured vehicles while ignoring intelligence‑driven solutions is a sign of dullard governance.
