The All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken a clear lead in the Ekiti 2026 governorship election after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) uploaded results from 1,258 polling units.
According to the INEC Result Viewing portal (IREV), the APC has secured 84.1 percent of the votes cast so far.
A detailed breakdown shows the APC with 78,979 votes, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with 10,736 votes, and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) with 2,964 votes.
EFCC Operatives Chased Away by Voters
In a separate development, youths at a polling unit in Ekiti State confronted and drove away operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) who had arrived to monitor the election.
A viral video circulating online shows voters questioning the EFCC officials’ presence and demanding that they leave the polling area.
The EFCC said its officers were deployed to monitor and prevent vote‑buying during the governorship contest.
However, some voters resisted the agency’s presence, arguing that the EFCC’s involvement was unnecessary and intimidating.
