Dayo Amusa Challenges Peter Obi to Reveal His Plans
Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has called out Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), for criticising the current administration’s handling of electricity and security without presenting his own alternatives.
Reacting to a recent interview where Obi fielded questions on his policy proposals, Amusa argued that anyone aspiring to lead Nigeria must be ready to explain both the problems they see and the concrete steps they would take to fix them.
She stressed that merely pointing out governmental shortcomings is insufficient; candidates owe voters a clear roadmap of what they would do differently if elected.
Amusa questioned why Obi chose to keep the details of his strategy hidden, insisting that Nigerians deserve transparency from anyone seeking their mandate.
She took to 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) to voice her frustration, writing: “A leader should be able to answer how and what they can do differently. No sir, you can’t criticise all government policies and not give solutions. It’s obvious you don’t want people to vote for you, which is why you keep your plans to yourself. This isn’t a secret affair – we want to know what you’ll do differently. I watched the podcast with Rufai, and it wasn’t inspiring!”
