England manager Thomas Tuchel has stated that the Three Lions are entitled to dream of lifting the 2026 FIFA World Cup trophy, but he warned that mere ambition will not guarantee victory without the necessary hard work.
Speaking ahead of England’s opening match against Croatia scheduled for 9 p.m. on June 17, Tuchel emphasized that while the team will aim for football’s biggest prize, they must stay grounded and realistic about the challenges that lie ahead.
“We dream. We dream. I think we have a right to dream, but we don’t want to be delusional,” Tuchel remarked. He added that success comes with responsibility, and that responsibility rests on the effort the players put in.
The former Chelsea and Bayern Munich boss stressed that no national side can promise silverware at a major tournament, and he believes fans understand that guarantees are unrealistic. Instead, England’s focus should be on commitment, performance, and giving everything on the pitch.
