Former APC Spokesman Timi Frank Claims ADC Deregistration Court Judgment Was Drafted by Attorney General’s Office
Timi Frank, former deputy national publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), alleged that the Abuja High Court judgment deregistering the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and other political parties was prepared by the Office of the Attorney General and simply read out by the judges.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Frank said the judgment arrived without prior notice to the parties involved, claiming it had been crafted elsewhere and merely delivered by the court.
He added, “The judgment came suddenly without prior notice to the parties involved. From the information available to us, it appeared that the judgment had been prepared elsewhere and simply delivered by the court. Nobody knew about it. There was no information and no briefing, even to the lawyers representing the parties. The judgment was given suddenly. It was something they plotted and cooked up to make it look legitimate without even notifying the parties involved.”
Frank warned that any move by President Bola Tinubu and his allies to deregister major opposition parties like the ADC could provoke a national crisis and damage Nigeria’s democratic foundations.
He urged President Donald Trump of the United States and the international community to act swiftly to preserve Nigeria’s multiparty democracy, calling on all democrats to defend the gains Nigerians have fought for.
