Ronaldo’s Double Secures Saudi Pro League Crown for Al Nassr
Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice on Thursday as Al Nassr defeated Damac 4-1 to clinch the Saudi Pro League title.
The veteran forward struck twice in the final half‑hour to provide the winning margin Al Nassr needed to be crowned champions.
At 41 years old, Ronaldo, who had not lifted a major club trophy since winning Serie A with Juventus in 2020, showed emotion watching the closing minutes from the bench.
After joining Al Nassr in 2023, he has now added the Saudi championship to league titles previously earned in England, Spain and Italy, alongside his five Champions League medals.
Al Nassr opened the match with a 2‑0 lead before Damac pulled one back to make it 2‑1.
Ronaldo restored the cushion in the 63rd minute with a trademark free‑kick that slipped past the goalkeeper and a wall of players, finding the far corner.
He added his second nine minutes from time, receiving a cut‑back near the six‑yard box and firing high into the net.
Sadio Mané had earlier opened the scoring for Al Nassr at Al‑Awwal Park Stadium in Riyadh.
The triumph comes shortly after Ronaldo was named in Portugal’s squad for the upcoming World Cup; the all‑time leading men’s international goalscorer with 143 goals is preparing for his sixth appearance at the tournament.
