Ayekooto Rebukes Falz for Criticising First Lady Remi Tinubu
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ayekooto Akindele, has criticised Nigerian rapper Falz following his remarks aimed at First Lady Remi Tinubu.
Falz argued that alleviating that poverty alleviation for struggling citizens and business owners is the exclusive duty of the government, questioning why individuals are being pressed to act when the responsibility lies with the state.
He added that the administration’s campaign slogan, “emilokan” (meaning “it’s my turn”), indicates that officials have long awaited their opportunity to serve, making complaints about pressure unjustified.
In response, Ayekooto took to his official X account, urging Falz to cease speaking in jargon and clarified that the First Lady did not mention his name in her appeal because he, too, requires assistance.
Ayekooto wrote, “Falz, stop talking jargons. The First Lady didn’t mention your name; she knows you need help due to your career faltering. She only named Davido, Wizkid and Burna Boy. So why are you the one responding?”
