Nigerian TikToker Peller Details Harrowing Four‑Day Police Cell Ordeal After Release
Popular Nigerian TikToker and streamer Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, has spoken out about his traumatic experience after spending nearly four days in police custody.
Peller and his associate, Bello Oladipo, were arrested on accusations of obstructing police officers during an operation. They were later arraigned before a Lagos Magistrate’s Court, where each was granted ₦500,000 bail.
Following his release, Peller took to Snapchat to share the details of his detention. He said he neither ate nor bathed during the entire period, describing the ordeal as something he had never faced before.
“I am ugly now, I can’t show my face yet. Omo, I slept in a cell for almost four days. It has never happened to me before in my life,” he said. “I no chop for four good days, I no bath.”
He added that fellow inmates recognised him and jokingly called him “001” while he was locked up. The experience left him shaken and more determined to avoid trouble, especially as he prepares for his upcoming wedding.
“Nah, my wedding dey my mind. Nah to dey waka jeje after wedding japa,” Peller remarked, indicating that staying out of trouble is now a priority as he looks forward to his nuptials.
