Atiku’s Ally Defects to APC, Backs Tinubu’s 2027 Reelection
Aslam Aliyu, a longtime supporter of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) 2027 presidential aspirant, has announced her defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Aliyu explained that her decision came after careful consideration of Nigeria’s political trajectory and the opposition’s inability to present a credible alternative governance plan.
The Zamfara‑born politician said she wants to contribute more effectively to national development through a structured party platform.
She noted that for nearly two decades she had worked within Atiku’s political circle, maintaining unwavering loyalty throughout that period.
After twenty years of dedicated involvement, Aliyu concluded that the opposition lacks a meaningful development blueprint or a sustainable national rescue strategy.
“The ADC has no concrete plan for the country; it merely criticises the government without offering a single viable solution,” she said. “Political culture must move beyond theatrical criticism and embrace measurable progress.”
Aliyu, describing herself as a mother, urged patriotic Nigerian youths, women, and forward‑thinking opposition members to abandon counterproductive politics and join forces with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
She expressed confidence that, by the grace of Almighty Allah, Tinubu will win the 2027 presidential election, stating there is “no vacancy in Aso Rock Villa” for anyone else.
