Brymo Confirms Past Affairs with Married Women, Recalls 2Baba Confrontation with Annie Idibia
Nigerian singer Olawale Ashimi, widely known as Brymo, has spoken candidly about his earlier relationships with married women. He said that as his music career began to gain traction, he attracted attention from several older women, some of whom were already married.
According to Brymo, many of these women told him they were no longer living with their husbands before they became involved. He used the experience to advise younger artistes to avoid sleeping with other people’s wives, warning that such actions could lead to serious trouble.
He also recalled an invitation from a married woman to perform at her sister’s wedding. She later asked him to visit her family home, but Brymo changed his mind after learning that her husband would be present. He said the situation made him uncomfortable and he decided not to go, fearing it could escalate into something dangerous.
The singer then addressed an alleged incident involving music star Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, and his former wife Annie Idibia. Brymo claimed the encounter took place in 2019 at an office in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, where 2Baba reportedly looked him in the eye and asked Annie, “You don f*** Brymo?”
Brymo shared his reaction to the moment:
“I met quite a number of older women who were truly married. This goes to younger artistes, stop sleeping with people’s wives. They will cut your life short. They would tell me they were separated from their husbands.
She said, ‘Our baba will be there.’ I thought she meant her father, but she said, ‘No, my husband.’ As far as I’m concerned, me going there to perform that night is me opening myself up for some crazy ritual. I just couldn’t take it, so I had to get out.
As at 2019, I remember that moment in Naomi’s office in Lekki Phase 1 when 2Face looked me square in the eye and asked Annie, ‘You don f*** Brymo?’ I will never forget it. I am wicked, you people don’t know me.”
Brymo concluded by urging upcoming musicians to exercise caution when dealing with married individuals, emphasizing that the potential consequences can be severe and life‑altering.
