Deceptive posts featuring AI-generated images of Foden and partner Rebecca Cooke in distress rapidly gained traction online. These hoaxes triggered widespread alarm among football supporters globally. Foden’s management team is now collaborating with legal professionals to identify the sources and remove the harmful content from digital platforms.
One false Facebook post alleged the death of Foden’s six-year-old son Ronnie, while another falsely claimed his four-year-old daughter True was battling cancer. Accounts posing as Manchester City fans circulated these stories, causing Foden’s name to trend as unsuspecting supporters offered condolences.
Rebecca Cooke, mother to Foden’s three children, publicly condemned the fabricated stories on Instagram. She described the rumors as “sickening” and stated, “We are aware of the pages spreading these false stories. They’re completely fabricated and disturbing.”
Cooke reassured concerned followers about the family’s wellbeing, saying, “Thank God we’re all fine. Please report any posts sharing these fake stories.” The couple has urged social media users to help combat the spread of malicious online content targeting their children.
