Concerns About Hosting Sister With Husband Present
A woman has stirred reactions on social media after sharing a conversation with a friend who asked if her younger sister could stay at her home instead of her own.
According to the woman, the friend explained that her sister would be arriving in September and wanted to stay at her place, despite owning a newly purchased four‑bedroom house.
Recounting the call, she said: “I can’t believe this, guys. Someone called me and said my sister is coming this September and would like to stay in your house.”
She questioned the request, replying: “Why my house? You’ve just bought a four‑bedroom home. Why does your sister need to stay with me? I only have three bedrooms.”
The friend responded: “Your place is more spacious, with four bedrooms and two receptions downstairs. She’ll be staying a while and she’s a fine girl. You know, they don’t put yam and goat together.”
Shocked, the woman asked: “Please make me understand — who is the yam and who is the goat?”
The friend replied: “Ah, she’s a fine girl; I cannot leave her in the house with my husband.”
Still surprised, she asked: “So you want her to come and stay in my place?” The friend answered “Yes” and offered to pay for the sister’s accommodation.
Decision to Decline the Request
The woman turned down the offer, insisting the sister should stay with her own family or another arrangement be made.
She said: “No, your place is closer to the university; she should stay with you or you make another plan.”
She added: “What do you mean you can’t leave your sister with your husband together? Because they don’t put yam and goat together. Is everything okay?”
The friend later tried to explain: “No, it’s not like that. I don’t want to tempt my husband. You know my sister — have you seen her?”
The woman ended the conversation by saying: “I do not need to see your sister.”
Why can’t you leave your sister in same house with your husband?
