Timi Dakolo Denies DJ Timmy’s £4,106 Debt Claim Over Cancelled UK Tour
Nigerian gospel singer Timi Dakolo has threatened legal action against disc jockey and show promoter DJ Timmy after the latter alleged a £4,106 debt linked to a proposed United Kingdom tour that never took place.
In a letter signed by Dakolo’s lawyer, the claim was described as “false and defamatory.” The letter explained that a written performance agreement placed responsibility for all production, travel, accommodation, visa and logistics expenses on Revolve Entertainment, the promoter headed by DJ Timmy. Under that agreement, Dakolo was not required to pay any deposit or reimburse those costs.
According to the singer, the tour was cancelled because Revolve Entertainment failed to meet the required sound, lighting and technical production standards. As a result, there was no legal or contractual obligation for him to cover expenses the promoter had voluntarily incurred.
Dakolo further accused Timmy and Revolve Entertainment of defamation, harassment, cyberbullying and blackmail through their social media posts. He demanded an immediate retraction, a public apology and the removal of the offending content within seven days, warning that failure to comply would lead to legal proceedings in both Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
The letter also calls for an immediate halt to any further false or defamatory statements, a clear public retraction across the same platforms where the allegations were made, and warns that non‑compliance will prompt the pursuit of all available legal remedies before the appropriate courts and regulatory authorities.
