PRP Denies Kwankwaso Alleged Purchase of Nomination Forms Ahead of 2027 Elections
The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has dismissed claims that Rabiu Kwankwaso, the vice‑presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), bought 69 nomination forms to seize control of the party before the 2027 general elections.
Speaking to journalists on Monday, PRP National Secretary Musa Maigari said the accusation is completely false. He stressed that Kwankwaso never purchased any forms and has no official affiliation with the PRP.
Maigari added that the party’s primary elections have already been concluded and all elective positions are filled. “At this stage, every party has finished its primaries,” he noted.
He also challenged the credibility of the person making the allegation, saying the accuser is not even a member of the PRP. “It is laughable that someone who is not part of our party is talking about nomination forms after the primaries are over,” he said.
Furthermore, Maigari clarified that the so‑called North‑West Stakeholders Forum cited in the rumor is not recognised by the PRP. He said there is no record showing that Kwankwaso or any of his representatives acquired nomination forms from the party.
He described the timing of the claim as suspect, given that the PRP has already completed its primary process for the next electoral cycle.
Maigari urged the public to disregard the baseless rumors and to rely only on information released through the party’s official communication channels.
