Peter Obi Warns He May Not Be Alive to Contest 2027 Election
Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi has raised alarm over what he describes as deliberate frustrations by the current government that are affecting his livelihood and ability to prepare for the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking in an interview with journalist Chude Jideonwo, Obi said, “With the way this government is going, I may not even be alive to contest the 2027 election. Every single thing I do for a living, this government is deliberately frustrating. I face frustration every day. They recently locked my car at the airport.”
The former Anambra governor added that several aspects of his work have been made intentionally difficult, citing the recent airport incident involving his vehicle as a concrete example of the administration’s tactics.
Obi also reiterated his demand that President Bola Tinubu step down, accusing the president of incompetence, lack of compassion, and failure to fulfil campaign promises made during the 2023 election.
