Kanu Backs Arsenal to End Champions League Wait
Former Nigeria international Nwankwo Kanu believes Arsenal can finally break their UEFA Champions League drought when they meet Paris Saint‑Germain in Saturday’s final in Budapest.
Speaking to Flashscore ahead of the match, the ex‑Arsenal striker said the Gunners have shown they are ready to conquer Europe after ending a 22‑year wait for the Premier League crown.
Arsenal arrive at the final unbeaten in this season’s competition under manager Mikel Arteta.
PSG, the defending champions, have already eliminated English sides Chelsea and Liverpool on their route to the final.
Kanu, however, feels the momentum has shifted in Arsenal’s favour.
“I told my friends that last season we were struggling against Manchester City, and they went on to win the league. But this season the table turned, and we have come out on top to claim the Premier League title,”
Kanu said
The former Super Eagles captain added that Arsenal’s domestic triumph could be followed by European glory.
“In the same way, PSG lifted the Champions League last year, but I truly believe this season it will be Arsenal’s turn to go all the way and lift the trophy, making it a historic year for the club,”
