
Popular Nigerian content creator Davrel shared that he escaped an alleged gun attack in Abuja, during which several of his team members were hit by gunfire and a vehicle was taken.
The story gained traction online after Davrel said he walked away unscathed while his companions sustained injuries in the assault.
Davrel explained that while traveling with his crew, gunmen opened fire, wounding his bodyguard. He fled the scene, leaving behind his phone and streaming gear.
Davrel Recounts the Harrowing Ordeal
In a social media update, Davrel wrote, “I’m posting this from my mother’s Samsung phone. Abuja feels unsafe right now. My friend’s 2025 Prado was snatched, my hands tremble as I type this, lol. My bodyguard was hit and bleeding. I ran for safety, abandoning my phone and equipment. Thank you, Jesus, for keeping me alive.”
In a later post, he added, “We were four in the vehicle; two were fired upon, one had a gun aimed at him. I witnessed and heard everything but was unharmed, declaring, ‘I serve a living God.’ My survival stands as proof of His faithfulness.”
He also posted a hospital snapshot captioned, “God is in control.”

Many commentators used the event to highlight ongoing safety issues in Abuja, urging stronger protective measures for locals and visitors.
