Kano Pillars Appoints Former Remo Stars Coach Daniel Ogunmodede as Technical Adviser
Kano Pillars Football Club announced on Friday that Daniel Ogunmodede, the former head coach of Remo Stars, has been appointed as the club’s new Technical Adviser ahead of the 2026/2027 Nigeria Premier Football League season. The disclosure was made by the club’s Media Director, Isma’eel Tangalashi, in a statement issued from Kano.
The statement said the appointment forms part of an ongoing restructuring exercise aimed at strengthening the technical bench and improving overall team performance. It added that positioning the Pillars for stronger showings in domestic leagues and continental competitions was another key objective.
Ogunmodede’s arrival is described as a major step in the club’s ambition to return to top contention in the NPFL and restore its competitive edge. He replaces Muhammad Babaganaru, who previously held the role.
Last season, Kano Pillars finished 15th on the log with 48 points from 38 matches.
Daniel Daga Cleared of Sexual Assault Charges by Norwegian Court
In a separate development, Norwegian side Molde has cleared 19‑year‑old Nigerian midfielder Daniel Daga of sexual assault charges. The Frostating Court of Appeal overturned the earlier conviction by the Romsdal District Court, which had sentenced him to six months in prison and ordered him to pay NOK 10,000 in legal costs.
Molde confirmed that, pending the final written judgment, Daga is available for selection and is expected to rejoin the squad soon. Club CEO Vegard Storvik said the ruling had been a demanding period for all parties and that the club would handle the matter with respect and consideration.
