A spokesperson for the Delta State Governor, Ossai Ovie Success, has urged social media commentator Martins Vincent Otse, widely recognized as VeryDarkMan, to issue an apology to Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye following his recent comments about the esteemed clergyman.
In a firm online statement, Ossai cautioned that disparaging the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God could invite what he termed “spiritual consequences.”
Ossai Advises Against Targeting Religious Leaders
Ossai contended that VeryDarkMan was mistaken in directing his critique toward Pastor Adeboye, emphasizing that the preacher’s focus is on interceding for Nigeria rather than aligning with any political faction.
He remarked, “I have appealed to Very Dark Man to apologize to Pastor E.A. Adeboye, yet he remains unresponsive.”
He added, “He may believe he is gaining popularity among his followers by challenging spirituality and disparaging a servant of God, but certain boundaries must not be crossed.”
Furthermore, he declared, “You cannot act disrespectfully toward an iroko tree and anticipate a long life.”
Alleged Spiritual Repercussions
Ossai insisted that Pastor Adeboye has not harmed anyone and noted that criticism often arises when the cleric declines to meet certain political or societal expectations.
“Pastor Adeboye belongs to God. He does not represent any individual or political camp; he stands in the breach for the nation before the Divine,” Ossai stated.
He continued, “Records show that Satan has repeatedly employed individuals to malign Baba Adeboye without justification.”
The governor’s aide also warned that those who disparage what he regards as “a genuine servant of God” expose themselves to spiritual repercussions.
Request for an Apology
Expressing his disappointment, Ossai called on VeryDarkMan to retract his statements and apologize to the distinguished pastor.
“I am truly let down by Very Dark Man. He ought to apologize to Pastor Adeboye and reconsider his approach,” Ossai concluded.
