A Nigerian woman ignited online discussion after recounting a disagreeable encounter with a man she referred to as her talking stage.
In a widely circulated TikTok clip, she explained that the man, whom she called her talking stage, phoned her one morning, asked her out on a date mentioning he had been thinking about her, and after she agreed, they met for dinner.
She noted that initially the evening went well; they conversed, laughed, and enjoyed their meal.
“He called me and said, ‘Princess, I would like to take you out on a date.’ We met, chatted and had dinner. Everything was going fine.”
She said the mood shifted when she told him she needed to leave because it was getting late.
According to her account, he demanded that she accompany him home after the outing and grew upset when she refused.
“He said if I wasn’t going home with him, I should refund the food money and the transport fare. I told him if he couldn’t pay for the bill, he should wash plates for the restaurant,” she recounted.
She asserted that she eventually left the venue and headed home, only to receive a flood of insulting messages from him afterward.
The incident has sparked mixed reactions online; some users backed her position, while others contended that the two should have clarified their expectations before the date.
