The Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, Sam Amadi, stated that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has not yet publicly announced former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi as his running mate.
Amadi noted that Nigerians are awaiting Atiku’s personal confirmation of Amaechi as his vice‑presidential pick.
He wrote on social media, “@atiku is yet to publicly name @ChibuikeAmaechi as his VP. Maybe he will do so soonest. We wait to hear him say so soonest.”
Meanwhile, the ADC has already selected Amaechi as its vice‑presidential candidate for the 2027 election.
Abdullahi added that the choice reflects Amaechi’s strong showing as the runner‑up in the party’s presidential primaries and his track record of service to Rivers State and Nigeria.
