APC Lagos Announces 2027 Election Candidates
The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has published the names of its official candidates for the 2027 House of Assembly and House of Representatives elections.
The list, released in a public notice on Monday and signed by APC Lagos Chairman Cornelius Ojelabi, follows the conclusion of the party’s primaries.
House of Representatives Candidates
Notable names include incumbent Speaker Mudashiru Obasa contesting Agege Federal Constituency, James Abiodun Faleke for Ikeja Federal Constituency, and Babajimi Benson for Ikorodu Federal Constituency.
In Alimosho, Olabisi Adebanjo secured the ticket, becoming the sole female candidate among the 24 House of Representatives hopefuls announced by the party.
Lagos State House of Assembly Candidates
Prominent contenders feature incumbent Deputy Speaker Mojisola Meranda running for Apapa Constituency I, while Barakat Bakare‑Odunuga captured the Surulere I ticket after defeating incumbent Desmond Elliott.
Other successful aspirants are Damilola Ayinde‑Marshall (Surulere II), Saheed Bankole (Eti‑Osa I), Gbolahan Yishawu (Eti‑Osa II), Oladipo Olayinka Ajomale (Oshodi‑Isolo I), and Mayowa Alakija (Oshodi‑Isolo II).
In Ikorodu, Toyin Gafar and Moshood Aro won the Ikorodu I and II slots respectively; Orekoya Abiodun and Moruf Alli‑Balogun took Somolu I and II; Temitope Adewale and Rasheed Lanre Makinde claimed Ifako‑Ijaiye I and II; Oluwaseun Adebisi Ege and Suraju Tijani emerged victorious in Ojo I and II.
For Ikeja Constituencies I and II, Adedamola Kasumu and Adeseyi Lawal emerged victorious; Saad Olumoh secured Ajeromi‑Ifelodun I, while Sabur Akanbi Oluwa won Ajeromi‑Ifelodun II.
Lagos Island saw Lara Olumegbon‑Lawal capture Constituency I and Yusuf Nurudeen Abiodun win Lagos Island II; Olatunji Lukmon Jimoh‑Orelope and Joseph Kehinde were nominated for Alimosho I and II.
As of press time, the APC Appeals Committee continued to review petitions arising from the primaries.
