The Action Democratic Party (ADP) has declared its intention to take over the reins of power in Oyo State, criticising successive governments elected under the All Progressives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for neglecting the welfare.

ADP’s Critique of Past Administrations
Speaking to journalists in Ibadan, ADP spokesperson Olatunji pointed out that APC and PDP have produced every governor since the return of civilian rule in 1999. He argued that these administrations have not launched sufficient people‑oriented projects capable of improving residents’ lives.
Olatunji added that the growing support for ADP across the state signals voters’ desire for a credible alternative after years of disappointment.
A Vision for Oyo State
The ADP candidate said Oyo deserves leadership that prioritises welfare, accountability, and competence. He stressed that the state must regain its reputation as the “Pace Setter” in governance, economic development, and human capital growth.
Under an ADP government, the focus would be on a complete overhaul of the leadership and governance architecture, driven by competence, accountability, empathy, and collective responsibility.
Preparation for the 2027 Elections
Olatunji expressed confidence that ADP will make significant gains in the 2027 gubernatorial election. He urged residents to back the party as a viable alternative to the entrenched APC‑PDP duopoly.
The party plans to continue community engagement across Oyo, presenting its development agenda, presenting its policy proposals to voters ahead of the polls.
