ADC Chieftain Kenneth Okonkwo Calls for Disqualification of President Tinubu Over Certificate Controversy
A senior member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kenneth Okonkwo, has asserted that President Bola Tinubu does not meet the constitutional requirements to serve as Nigeria’s president.
Speaking amid the ongoing debate over Tinubu’s academic credentials, Okonkwo argued that the president is disqualified because he cannot produce the required five O’Level credits and relies on a foreign university certificate that the institution has denied issuing.
He emphasized that Nigerian law mandates a secondary school education with at least five credits before any tertiary qualification can be considered valid, and the absence of such evidence renders Tinubu ineligible for the presidency.
APM Candidate Seyi Makinde Criticises Tinubu’s Economic Policies
In a separate remarks, the presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Seyi Makinde, condemned the current administration’s economic direction, stating that reforms such as the removal of fuel subsidy and the floating of the naira have intensified hardship for ordinary Nigerians.
Makinde, represented at the event by party leader Hon. Babatunde Tijani, called for a comprehensive overhaul of Nigeria’s economy, security framework, and governance structure to alleviate the growing cost of living.
