Former Ekiti Governor Fayemi Praises Peaceful Conduct of Saturday’s Governorship Election
Former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi described Saturday’s governorship election as a smooth experience, noting that the accreditation process was fast and seamless.
He added that the same positive experience was shared by other voters at his polling unit, including his wife, and commended the INEC team for their work, saying such smooth operations are not always guaranteed.
Fayemi acknowledged a reported incident in the community the night before but stressed that the election remained peaceful, reiterating that the area is ordinarily peaceful.
Meanwhile, former Senator representing Ekiti North, Ayo Arise, expressed confidence in the All Progressives Congress (APC). He voted in Oye‑Ekiti and observed that turnout at his unit was lower than expected, yet he described the exercise as peaceful, smooth and quick.
Arise reiterated that the APC’s target of 500,000 votes remains an aspiration, adding that the final assessment will be made after the collation of results.
