Francis Duru Addresses False Health Claims
Veteran Nollywood actor Francis Duru has dismissed recent social media reports claiming he is battling a serious illness. The actor took to his Instagram page to set the record straight.
In a video posted on Friday, the 56‑year‑old star described the circulating footage as false and misleading, insisting he has never experienced the ailment shown in the clip.
Duru labelled the video a deliberate effort by “merchants of darkness” to spread negativity and attract online traffic, warning that such actions harm the individuals targeted.
“I am making this video regarding the wicked videos circulating about me being sick to the level you could see in that video. Well, I have never been that sick and will never be that sick. And by God’s grace, we keep being stronger and stronger.”

He added that the clip was created to drive traffic without regard for the impact on those involved, and expressed confidence that God will address those responsible.
The actor also reached out to friends who had been hesitant to contact him, reassuring them of his well‑being and urging them not to be swayed by unfounded rumors.
Francis Duru married Adokiye in 2003 and endured a personal loss in August 2024 with the passing of his son, Ifeanyi. Despite that tragedy, he maintains he is in good health and continues to focus on his career and family.
