Akpabio Clarifies APC’s Promise of Structural Progress
Senate President Godswill Akpabio stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration never pledged to deliver miracles to Nigerians. Instead, the government promised structural, calculated and deliberate progress through President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Speaking amid public complaints about the high cost of living — driven by fuel subsidy removal and other policies — Akpabio emphasized that the administration is following a long‑term governance approach aimed at real improvements in citizens’ daily lives, not just statistical gains.
Praises for FCT Minister Nyesom Wike’s Road Projects
Akpabio also lauded Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, describing him as a “miracle worker” and “Mr Project.” He noted that Wike’s team has scheduled road commissionings for 30 days in a month — a first in Nigeria’s history.
The Senate President expressed confidence that the newly constructed FCT road will remain pothole‑free for up to 40 years, citing the contractor’s track record from his own governorship in Rivers State, where a road built 15 years ago still shows no potholes.
He urged continued support for President Tinubu, whom he called “Mr Deliverer,” and affirmed that Wike’s dedication will persist regardless of public opinion.
