A Nigerian woman has revealed how an unexpected turn of events during a court visit led her to lose a ₦10,000 wager, igniting a flurry of comments across social media.
Identified on X as @ChisomAgbafor, she explained that the bet involved her friend, who was actively seeking employment.
The Bet That Backfired
The wager stipulated that her friend needed to inform five senior lawyers about his job search in order to win the prize.
Unfortunately, each of those legal professionals declined to assist him.
Unbeknownst to him, a senior lawyer who had observed the interaction approached him after the court session and offered him a position.
She recalled his words: “After court ended, he called the guy aside and said, ‘I like your courage. Can you resume on Monday? That’s how I lost ₦10,000.’”
