Nancy Isime Defends Her Personal Faith Approach
Nollywood actress and media personality Nancy Isime has clarified her stance on Christianity, stating that she does not consider herself a “typical Nigerian Christian.” Instead, she embraces a personal mindset that she likens to that of Jesus.
Isime explained that she does not rely on pastors or priests for spiritual direction. Rather, she trusts her own intuition to guide her relationship with God.
She emphasized her independence by saying, “I don’t serve mortals. So, I don’t have the need to perform for mortals. I will always have a mind of my own, do my own thing, and figure out God for myself.”
Although she follows her own path, Isime acknowledges spiritual anchors. She mentioned Apostle Joshua Selman as one of the preachers she listens to and learns from.
“I have anchors, whom I listen to; preachers like Apostle Joshua Selman. When you understand the kind of preachers I listen to, you will understand where I am coming from. I am not your typical Nigerian Christian, and I don’t want to be. I have my own mindset just like Jesus,” she added.
In related news, Isime recently paid tribute to her late colleague Alex Ekubo during his service of songs. She recalled his lively personality, playful nature, and habit of giving friends funny nicknames — such as calling her “old 20 naira.”
