Cynthia Nwadiora, widely known as Ceec from reality television, recently spoke about public judgment. She shared how many fans misinterpret her confidence for arrogance.
Ceec highlighted a unique challenge of living in Nigeria. She noted that people often embrace negative labels easily. They do so without first getting to know an individual.
She explained that a person tagged as “bad” is often accepted as such by many others. This happens even before they meet the individual in question.
This perception has negatively impacted her brand, Ceec stated. Many assume she is arrogant even before any personal interaction with her.
She firmly believes that anyone who meets her in person will discover she is different. They will likely change their initial online-formed opinion.
Ceec actively strives to give people a clearer understanding of her true self. She hopes they leave with an accurate impression after meeting her.
“I live in Nigeria,” Ceec explained. “Many people here follow negative narratives. If someone says, ‘Oh, this person is bad,’ others often accept it. They don’t wait to experience you themselves.”
“People don’t truly get to know you,” she continued. “So, many see my confidence as arrogance.”
However, Ceec emphasized, “You cannot meet or experience me personally and then say I’m arrogant. You will definitely have a change of mindset about me.”
“This perception has cost me a lot,” she admitted. “I hear some people say, ‘Oh, that one, she’s just arrogant.’ Yet, they don’t even know me. That’s what they believe.”
She concluded, “One thing I’ve tried to do is ensure that when you meet me, when you give me the grace to know me, you won’t leave feeling that way.”
