Senator Rufai Hanga Quits Nigerian Democratic Congress
Senator Rufai Hanga, the Deputy Minority Whip of the Senate representing Kano Central Senatorial District, has formally resigned from the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC).
In his resignation letter dated August 3, 2026, Hanga said the decision came after careful reflection and personal deliberation, aiming to pursue other personal commitments and career paths.
He thanked the ward executive committee and members of the Dakata ward for the opportunities, support, and fellowship he received during his time with the party.
Hanga expressed his best wishes for the party’s future endeavours and requested that his name be removed from the party register and his membership card be returned.
