Fake Agency DG Adeniyi Adeyemi Detained at SARS IRT Headquarters
Reports indicate that Adeniyi Adeyemi, the controversial Director-General of the Presidential Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), is currently detained by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) Intelligence Response Team.
According to Daily Trust, Adeyemi was arrested in Osun State by the police Intelligence Response Team led by CSP Moses Lohor, then transferred to Ibadan before being flown to Abuja under a warrant issued by Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court.
On Thursday, he was seen boarding a private jet to Abuja, after which authorities confirmed he is being held at the IRT headquarters in Guzape, Abuja.
A senior officer, speaking anonymously to Daily Trust, said Adeyemi is undergoing interrogation regarding the alleged unlawful operation of an organization presented as a federal agency, among other matters under investigation.
The officer added that Adeyemi is answering questions at the IRT facility and is not under the command of any regular police unit.
