Uche Ogbodo Addresses Marriage Crisis Rumors
Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has sparked fresh speculation about her marriage after sharing a series of emotional updates on her Instagram Story.
The rumors intensified when both Ogbodo and her husband, Bobby Maris, posted cryptic messages on their respective social media accounts.
In a recent story, Ogbodo questioned why society accepts a man growing weary of a marriage but condemns a woman for voicing the same sentiment.
She stated that she feels tired and wondered why admitting that fatigue should be considered wrong.
The actress also suggested that a woman’s happiness in marriage in Nigeria often hinges on having the right connections, and she asked why deciding to leave a marriage should be labeled a sin.
She warned against being pushed beyond her limits, describing herself as someone who can only endure so much.
Reflecting on eight years spent in the marriage, Ogbodo wondered whether people expect her to stay for two decades or until she dies before her pain is acknowledged.
She wrote: “For a person to tire of marriage now is taboo because I am a woman! Must it always be the man who grows weary? My weariness is my weariness! I am tired of the princess who married me. What is wrong with that? To be happy as a woman in marriage here depends on connections!”
“I no do again, is it a sin? Don’t push me to the wall because I am like rubber! Eight years of my life isn’t enough yet? Maybe I should give it twenty years or even six feet under before the crown of thorns fits me well!”
