A woman has ignited online discussion after sharing a heartfelt video in which she apologizes to older females she previously criticized for staying single.
The footage shows her looking back at her younger self, acknowledging that she once condemned women in their thirties and forties who had not yet wed.
She explains that, now nearing the same age without a spouse or even a romantic partner, she realizes that marriage does not come easily for everyone.
I Am Sorry
She describes the clip as an apology message, directing it toward the women she regarded as “big sisters” during her upbringing, and expresses remorse for her former attitude.
“This video is an apology. I want to say sorry to all those I once looked up to as elder sisters, all the females I considered big sisters while I was growing up.”
She confessed that she often wondered why they had not married despite their years.
“I kept thinking, ‘You’re thirty and still single, what are you doing with your life? You’re forty and still unmarried, what are you doing with your life?’”
Having reached a comparable stage in life herself, she now understands how challenging it can be to find the right life partner.
“I am around your age now. Yes, I remain unmarried. And I am finally beginning to grasp why you have not married.”
I Never Realized It Was Difficult
The woman admits she misjudged others and apologizes for what she calls “marry‑shaming” them.
“I am saying sorry. I used to marry‑shame you back then. I am saying sorry because I, too, am currently unattached and not even considering marriage.”
She notes that her personal experience has completely shifted her viewpoint on wedlock.
“I never knew. I did not realize that getting married could be so hard. I did not know. I am sorry.”

“I want to apologise to my big aunties and sisters. I know that while I was growing up, whenever I saw them in their late 30s and still unmarried, I used to wonder what they were doing with their lives. Now I’m around their age and I’m not married either. I never knew it was like… pic.twitter.com/sYCdE3Teux”
