APC Unveils Oyo Governorship Ticket for 2027
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled Sharafadeen Ali as its governorship candidate and Adesoji Adedeji as his running mate for the 2027 election in Oyo State.
The announcement came less than 24 hours after the party’s national headquarters in Abuja uploaded the names of Ali and Adedeji to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal.
The move put an end to swirling rumors about possible changes to the candidate list and drew attention from other aspirants seeking various offices under the APC banner.
In related developments, the APC has reportedly given state governors the authority to distribute and complete INEC nomination forms, a step taken amid rising discontent over the party’s candidate selections in several states.
According to Vanguard, although the National Working Committee (NWC) forwarded the forms to the State Working Committees, those candidates backed by governors and key stakeholders are more likely to receive them.
APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka said the party had received more than 700 petitions arising from disputed primaries.
He stressed that the immediate priority is to ensure candidates complete and return their forms before the INEC deadline of July 11.
Morka added that the party will publish the full list of candidates once all forms have been processed.
